London Olympics 2012: How power, money and art are shifting to the East End

The Olympic legacy will “play a very important role in rebalancing the city over time” says Ricky Burdett, quoted by the Observer in an article on the debate over the impact the 2012 Olympics will have on the East End of London.  “It sounds slightly romantic, but I have to say, being in the Olympic Park the other day and seeing a swan in areas which I saw a year and a half ago contaminated and horrible: it was quite something to see that change.”
