This exhibition showcases the most stimulating and challenging responses to Theatrum Mundi’s 2015 ideas competition Designing the Urban Commons. The winning proposals – chosen by jury and public vote – will be shown alongside the highlights of our 2014 New York competition Designing for Free Speech.

All submissions will be available to view in the gallery, ranging from online platforms for finding and re-using spaces in the city, to schemes for collective building, playful interventions and theoretical perspectives. Following a lively debate the jury chose a range of approaches: some were the most practicable proposals, others were those that most engagingly questioned what commoning in the city means. Voting is still open for the remaining winners. Visit the online gallery to support your favourite designs.

All winners will be announced soon after voting closes on 31st May.
