Exhibition dates: 27 January – 20 February 2015

URBAN LIGHTSCAPES/SOCIAL NIGHTSCAPES is an exhibition of photographs, videos and documents that showcase a five-day workshop around lighting design and social research. The workshop was hosted by the LSE Cities research programme Configuring Light/Staging the Social in collaboration with the Social Light Movement and Peabody.

The URBAN LIGHTSCAPES/SOCIAL NIGHTSCAPES workshop took place on Peabody’s Whitecross estate in Islington, London, in October 2014 and piloted the practical integration of social research into the public lighting design process. 25 lighting design professionals, architects and planners from eleven countries participated in social research training and lighting design exercises to develop new public lighting design interventions for the estate based on social research.

The exhibition will run from 27 January – 20 February 2015. The exhibition and opening reception is free and open to the public, no booking necessary.
