First meeting of Global Cities Chair

On Monday 9th May Theatrum Mundi (TM) director Adam Kaasa will join Richard Sennett in a panel discussion at Maison Suger discussing future directions in research and collaboration between TM and the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme. The event is the first meeting of the five year Global Cities co-chair created by the FMSH for Saskia Sassen and TM co-founder Richard Sennett, forging a new partnership between the two organisations. Saskia Sassen will also be presenting Global Streets – a new research project as part of the Chair, asking whether the indeterminate space of the global street can gradually bridge between communities that experience themselves as isolated, and the larger public realm. The event is free but spaces are limited and registration is required and can be found here.

Later in May TM will be convening its first Design Politics meeting in Paris. Building on the fascinating archive of site-specific proposals growing from our yearly design challenges TM intends to establish a working group of political scientists, sociologists, activists and architects thinking more widely about the politics of design and the city.
