Seed funding

LSE Cities provides seed funds to encourage multidisciplinary study within the LSE that align with the Centre's research themes. Call for applications are advertised when funds are available. Grants are intended to support and facilitate research related to supporting future grant applications.

The following research projects have received seed funding:

This project aims to use statistical geography to estimate and more accurately measure the causal effect of urban compactness on local air pollution concentrations.

This project is an empirical investigation into the social and material dimensions of community belonging.

This is a pilot study into the impact Uber has on transport provision, job creation and labour informalisation in Lagos and Nairobi.

This project covers initial phases of a multi-year investigation into the impact of air transport growth in Africa on urban infrastructure.
